We are surrounded by technology, and it is progressing for our own good. But, excess of anything starts to take a toll on our personal lives without us even noticing. My artwork is a commentary on the digitally distracted culture we are living in today. It explores the varying relationships between a person and the internet. I explore the changes we have in technology; the typical dangers like for example texting and driving as well as the psychology of Social Media. Previously, the word ‘social’ was used to refer a person who attends social gatherings, get-togethers, and spends quality time with relatives, friends, etc. But, now its definition has changed completely because of technology innovation. Suddenly a person is considered social if he or she is spending hours active on social media, gaining followers, likes and seeks gratification, and is rarely even interacting with those friends off-line. The media I use to make my pieces is either print making and digital illustration. I think its interesting to make work in a futuristic way using a computer and to also make work of the same subject in a traditional way.
